ER Editor: There doesn’t seem to be too much doubt that it’s Ukraine which downed one plane of two in the air, both participating in an announced prisoner swap, with 65 of its own captured military on board (plus 9 Russians).

Ukrainian prisoner Konstantin Danilchenko, who was on board the downed Il-76, said in summer of 2022, that Ukrainian Armed Forces treat soldiers like meat.

On board the Il-76 shot down over Belgorod were at least 12 representatives of the banned Azov national battalion. They and 53 other soldiers and officers were taken for exchange.

A military aircraft carrying 65 Ukrainian POWs fell to the ground in Russia’s Belgorod Region, killing all passengers on board

A Russian IL-76 heavy transport plane was carrying 65 captured Ukrainian military personnel when it crashed in Belgorod Region some 90km (55 miles) from the Ukrainian border. The Russian Defense Ministry has claimed that the aircraft was brought down by Kiev’s forces.
