Marion Maréchal calls for unity of the French right

ER Editor: A quick who’s who. Marion Marechal is the attractive, bright niece of Marine Le Pen and a political force in her own right, having been first elected at the tender age of 22 (she’s now 34). She’s the founder of a right-leaning political institute in Lyon as of 2017 when she quit politics for a while. She parted ways with aunt Marine along the way, or perhaps it was really vice versa. From around 2022, disappointingly, Marion was getting cosy with former journalist and regular TV commentator Eric Zemmour, who went into politics a handful of years ago and founded the ‘Reconquest’ party, of which Marion is still a member.

We published a piece investigating who Zemmour was getting funded by, and it turned out he was getting arm’s length financing from the Rothschilds (see below).  Now, it seems, there is a strong push to unite the right in France (at last!), initiated publicly by Marion, and that Zemmour is the one who appears to be dividing the camp. Odd that.

Since the dissolution of the National Assembly, Marion Maréchal and other figures of Reconquest! are calling for the unity of the rights against the division initiated by Éric Zemmour. Marine Le Pen supports this position, welcoming the choice to prioritize the national interest.

Since the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly by the President of the Republic 48 hours ago, a new political dynamic has been established in France. This dissolution opened the way for an unprecedented coalition of the right , bringing together candidates from the National Rally (RN), the Republicans (LR) and independents.

However, Éric Zemmour decided, despite the objections of several figures from Reconquête!, to present as many candidates as possible against this coalition of the right throughout the country. This decision sparked strong opposition among his former allies, including Marion Maréchal, Guillaume Peltier, Nicolas Bay and Laurence Trochu, leaving Zemmour increasingly isolated within his own camp.

Divisional Risks

Éric Zemmour’s decision is seen as a triple strategic error:

  1. Division candidates : Present candidates from Reconquest! in legislative constituencies means dividing the national camp and weakening the hope of victory for their common ideas.
  2. Electoral risks : This approach increases the risks of seeing Macronist or far-left deputies winning seats, which would go against the objectives of the right-wing coalition.
  3. Continuity of current policies : By fragmenting the right, this strategy could allow Emmanuel Macron to pursue his policies, deemed destructive by the signatories of the declaration.

A Call for Unity and Responsibility

Faced with this situation, Marion Maréchal, Guillaume Peltier, Nicolas Bay and Laurence Trochu call for collective responsibility and unwavering unity. They refuse the principle of divisive candidacies for the next legislative elections. Their message is clear: support the single candidates of the right-wing coalition in all constituencies in France.

They appeal to all French people who trusted them on June 9, inviting them to choose union rather than division. For them, France’s interest must take precedence over partisan interests.

Eric Zemmour’s hangover

Éric Zemmour, president of Reconquête!, said he was betrayed by those who had betrayed Marine Le Pen by joining him… a return to sender:

“I am disgusted and hurt. I welcomed Marion Maréchal very warmly, as I welcomed her three friends in treachery: Guillaume Peltier, Nicolas Bay and Laurence Trochu, who pride themselves on Christian values. I’ll pass on the gospels.”

In this context of crisis, Marion Maréchal seems to be emerging as a leadership figure within Reconquête!, calling for a strategy of unity and national responsibility.

Marine Le Pen reacted to this statement on X (formerly Twitter), welcoming the position of Marion Maréchal. She wrote :

“Faced with the seriousness of the issues, Marion Maréchal made the choice in the exceptional context that the country is experiencing, to prioritize the national interest over partisan considerations, by calling for support for the National Rally candidates. I salute this courageous position which will strengthen the patriotic dynamic.”

For a Historic Victory

This declaration is intended to be a call to unite forces to inflict a historic defeat on Emmanuel Macron and prevent the victory of a coalition of the left and far left, perceived as a threat to the stability of the country.

The members, activists and executives of Reconquête! are assured of the continuity of the fight for their ideas, with the recognition and esteem of the signatories. The stakes of these legislative elections are presented as a historic opportunity to enable the victory of the national camp and to change the political course of France.

  4. Pam, behind the scenes are several points that would be useful to understand the whole chessboard :
    you remember I talked to you about the special situation of the eastern european countries who’s decisons are completely biaised by the fact that they are getting from the western EU states like France and Germany way much more funds than they contribute ?
    I also told you the american based hegemon planned to part Europe between east (given to Russia) and west (kept by the US), with a new IRON WALL enclosing the western part of Europe.
    I also told you Marine le Pen has been somehow “changed”.
