On January 28th around 5:30am, a group of 60 migrants stormed the Hungarian border from the Serbian side in two successive waves. This was perpetrated on an open border control point, i.e. a legal entry point with open gates. The Hungarian authorities had already been tipped off and were prepared, firing warning shots which sent many migrants back to the Serbian side. Four illegals in the group were arrested. As per the FreeWest Media (FWM) report (linked to in the FWM article below):
He (ER: Hungarian interior minister Sandor Pinter) said the Hungarian authorities had learned last week that groups of migrants would try to enter Hungary illegally at several points along the border. He added that the police force had been fully prepared for the attempts and had succeeded in thwarting them.
Karoly Papp, the interior ministry’s director general for public security, told the same press conference that groups of migrants had made illegal entry attempts at the Röszke 2 crossing in two waves, at 5.20am and next at 5.30am. Police arrested four migrants, he said, adding that legal proceedings have been launched against them.
Gyorgy Bakondi, the prime minister’s chief domestic security adviser, said the Serbia-Hungary border had come under massive pressure recently, with 3,400 illegal entry attempts made so far this month.
We also recommend this short piece by Singapore’s Straits Times (via Reuters, who frames the story from a pro-migrant angle, predictably) for additional details, titled Warning shots fired as migrants rush Serbia’s border with Hungary.
This is the photo FWM has used, via Hungarian police, which presumably shows some of the perpetrators of the border attack since video surveillance was in operation. If so, it supports Orban’s point that the illegals were fit, military-age men who would be physically capable of making such an attack.
Here is PM Viktor Orban’s response.

Orban fingers Soros as instigator of new migrant influx
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has blamed billionaire George Soros for the renewed increase in illegal migrant numbers on the border with his country. In a radio interview, he accused the “Soros Network” of organizing migration across the Balkans.
FREEWEST MEDIA
BUDAPEST – Referring to US financier George Soros, Orban (pictured) branded Soros as “the world’s number-one oligarch” who was “financing NGOs, groups, activists” in “mafia-like networks”.
In his regular Friday morning interview to public broadcaster Kossuth Radio, the prime minister said Soros-funded organisations were involved in “migration consulting” while “Soros-funded politicians for rent” were in favour of migration.
Commenting on an attempt by migrants on Tuesday to break through the border (ER: see our introduction), he suggested that the attempt had been planned in advance.
“If you don’t see that, you have to be blind. […] There are men of military age who are in good physical shape and have been prepared.”
The recordings clearly show that there were no women and children among the migrants, only “military-age men in good physical condition”, he said. So it is clear they “weren’t blown here by the wind”.
Border protection and the fight against migration are the most important current European and Hungarian issues, he said, adding that he was making efforts to convince decision-makers that the European Union budget allocation for border protection should be given directly to member states rather than to the common EU border protection body.
So far the EU “has given less than a pittance” to Hungary for border protection despite the fact that the work done also benefits the Austrians and the Germans, he added.
The organisations financed by Soros “de facto provide migration advice”.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
