ER Editor: This article, by France Soir no less, concerns defamation made against it by a Le Monde journalist. France Soir is a site which we always trust to provide reasonable reporting. It has, for example, carried interviews and reports by members of the medical truther community, such as Dr. Peter McCullough. It is one of the more reasonable ones in France, hence a target ripe for attack.

Le Monde condemned: saying that France-Soir is a “conspiracy blog” and would disseminate “false information” constitutes an act of unfair competition by denigration
FRANCE SOIR
JUSTICE – Competition, like public information, must be fair: Le Monde condemned, by the commercial court, for unfair competition by denigration against France-Soir.
Over the past three years, France-Soir with its collaborative and participatory journalism model has been the subject of multiple attacks from mainstream media.
Attacks on the quality of information, ad hominem attacks on the person of the publication director, denigration, defamation, insults, lies, harassment. A wave of messages, each blacker than the other, aimed at gagging and censoring France-Soir.
Competitors who were more eager to welcome the decision of the CPPAP (Commission Paritaire des Publications et Agences de Presse) not to renew the approval of France-Soir than to comment on the decision of the President of the Administrative Court of Paris to suspend this decision. The latter gave rise to an exceptional press release from the court.
Ditto for the procedure that France-Soir initiated against Google, where the competitors in unison threw themselves on the decision of first instance, which had dismissed France-Soir and sentenced to a disproportionate article 700 of 70,000 euros. This procedure is on appeal.
Competition is fierce in the press. Some go so far as to break the law and denigrate competitors at the expense of information. Contrary to what the main media say, the content of France-Soir is based on objective facts and serious bases. We can debate opinions, but the reality of the facts always comes knocking at the door.
In France-Soir the contents are not detached from reality as certain media and journalists wanted to make believe. “It is not the one who shouts the loudest or who has the most communication power who is right”.
Abuse of majority is punishable by law. It is the same with the abuse of freedom of expression, whether through competitors or everyone. When the abuse is too marked, only justice remains to enforce the law. This is what France-Soir had done against Le Monde – a procedure in the commercial court for unfair competition by denigration.
The Decodex page contained the following: (now deleted)
Translation: Our advisory – This site broadcasts a certain amount of false information and/or misleading articles. Stay vigilant and cross-reference with other more reliable sources. If possible, go back to the source of the information.
And William Audureau, a journalist from Le Monde, did not hesitate to call France-Soir a “conspiratorial blog”.
Translation: A Le Monde journalist, Mr. Andureau, labelled the site France Soir a ‘conspiracy blog’, ‘covid-sceptic’, which puts out hate speech.
The deliberation, which was to be on June 16, 2023, has been extended until Monday, June 19, 2023 at 4 p.m.
The court ruled that the remarks made in the Decodex du Monde against the FranceSoir.fr site constitute an act of unfair competition by denigration. Le Monde is therefore sentenced to 25,000 euros in damages and 10,000 euros in article 700 of the Code of Civil Procedure.
The editorial staff of France-Soir salutes the courageous decision of the Commercial Court which goes against the media pressure exerted by competitors. Arnaud DiMeglio, lawyer for France-Soir in this case, declares: “We can no longer say that France-Soir is a conspiratorial blog which would disseminate false information. Competitors are therefore warned.”
In the context of other defamation proceedings against Doctor Mathias Wargon (also the husband of the Minister of Housing at the time of the events), the director of France-Soir Xavier Azalbert decided to appeal against the judgment which did not find defamation and insults, but violent remarks, ad hominem as well as on the editorial staff of France Soir.
Dr. Wargon, carried by the provisional decision, has since uttered scatological insults which he will also have to answer for.
France-soir has entrusted (lawyer) Me GW Goldnadel with the protection and defense of the interests of France Soir, and its team, against people who would insult or denigrate by any means whatsoever.
France-Soir is a media outlet with a Political and General Information certificate issued by the CPPAP (Commission Paritaire des Publications et Agence de Presse) with an editorial team that recently made a video explaining the France-Soir model.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
