EU Parliament adopts report on lessons to be learned from COVID-19

Of note:

EU lawmakers approved a report on lessons to take from COVID-19 on Wednesday (12 July). The text analysed the impact of the pandemic, evaluated EU and national health systems’ responses and set a roadmap for future health emergencies.

The European Parliament adopted the report “COVID-19 pandemic: Lessons learned and recommendations for the future” by 385 votes in favour, 193 against and 63 abstentions.

While the final report of the COVI special committee carries no legislative weight, it looks to draw lessons from the pandemic and establish a series of recommendations to the member states and the European Commission in order to strengthen European response to health threats.

The report recognises that the EU, as well as the rest of the world, was not prepared when the pandemic hit in 2020 and sets as its main objective to establish a strategy for the future. …

The left and the right reject the amendment on free and informed consent, Manon Aubry still betrays the French

LE MEDIA EN 4-4-2

The European Parliament recently voted on the Covid report, and one amendment in particular sparked outrage among netizens.

Amendment 23 recalled that everyone has the right to free and informed consent before undergoing a medical procedure. It also condemned the fact that the administration of a product benefiting from a conditional marketing authorization had been made (indirectly) compulsory by certain governments.

This amendment was rejected by the Greens, Socialists, Macronists and Republicans, who all voted against. On the other hand, Virginie Joron voted for.

Amendment - 18 vote of July 2023 on the COVID report to the European Parliament
Amendment – 23 vote of July 2023 on the COVID report to the European Parliament

And once again, Manon Aubry was next to the plate since she did not vote, certainly undecided between the two buttons. She chose to withdraw, which is equivalent to a vote against. This is not the first time that Manon Aubry has made a controversial decision: she had already voted in favor of the one-year extension of the European Union’s Covid Certificate.

Translation: Vote on the #Covid report in the European Parliament: Greens, Socialists, Macronists and Republicans vote AGAINST the amendment recalling that everyone has the right to free and informed consent.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)

  1. No, you’re right. But these articles machine-translated from French often sound a bit mangled. And these people voting against our rights are simply a**holes. But I do wonder about how much of this is real. Not just a movie to wind people up even more. The news is simply full of this right now.

  2. I think I don’t understand this: does this say that the Members *do not* respect the fundamental right to make personal decisions about health care and that they rejected the amendment that would have ensured that right..?
If so, this is an odd little article about a very massive matter among the humanity that’s under the control of the EU sphere: would this vote not be tantamount to a direct announcement that your personal health rights are rejected once and for all…?
Surely, I must be reading it wrong…?
