This cabal player, we believe, is no longer around, with his brand being used to advance certain agendas. Backchannels are against this ‘daylight savings time’ nonsense, which does seem to adversely affect people’s health and psychology.

Spain restarts push to kill daylight saving time in EU
Brussels proposed ending seasonal time changes in 2018, but seven years later everyone’s still winding their clocks back and forth.

Spain will attempt Monday to reenergize the EU’s stalled proposal to end seasonal clock changes and demand Brussels fulfill its promise to end daylight saving time.
“As you know, the clocks will change again this week and I, frankly, no longer see the point in it,” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said in a video posted on X Monday morning.

Why are we still doing this?
If I look back I think the last time I saw this push, might have been 2015 / 2016, around that time. The push to abolish it came from the EU itself. I remember Guy Verhofstadt being one of its main proponents. If you know my feelings about Verhofstadt, I would have said: “Get your dirty hands off my time.” I think I relay a majority position, connected to the idea that it was coming from the EU. As if they were suddenly interested in listening.
I’m still hesitant. Objectively speaking we don’t need this. Healthwise, probably better to keep a fixed time, although a small system shock sometimes is useful. I’m ambivalent.
I don’t see this need coming from people, rather politicians. For that reason I lean towards keeping it. Perhaps if we get rid of the current system I change my mind.
