Major fire erupts at UK base used for US bombers

.

ER Editor: RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire appears to have been a base for US bombers, according to the visuals being put out, and now there’s been a major fire there in the wee hours of Sunday morning. The war narrative, entirely dubious in our opinion, keeps on chugging, via a fire that should be nothing but is appearing as something in the media.

We have two reports below, one from RT and one from the BBC.

And who is starting an ‘accidental’ fire on a military base around 1am?

A large fire broke out at a Royal Air Force (RAF) base in west England on Sunday morning. In recent months, it was used by the US to launch operations against Iran, and was recently the target of anti-war protests.

According to the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, crews were called to RAF Fairford shortly after midnight on Sunday.

“The fire involved a single-story industrial storage building. It was brought under control safely and there were no casualties,” the service said in a statement.

Videos circulating on social media show a large blaze above warehouse buildings visible from the street, with an enormous plume of smoke rising up into the night sky.

RAF Fairford houses USAF B52 and B1 bombers, and serves as a key European operations center for Washington. Hundreds of anti-war protesters rallied outside the base on Saturday, demanding that the UK shut down military facilities used in the war on Iran.

Authorities said preliminary data suggests the blaze was accidental.

However, last week, a deliberate attack on a US military plane took place in neighboring Ireland.

A man was arrested after he intruded into Shannon Airport and damaged a US Air Force C-130 Hercules with a hatchet. He was arrested and charged with criminal damage, according to local law enforcement. No motive has yet been announced.

No injuries after fire breaks out at military base

Fire chiefs have confirmed that the cause of a military base blaze is believed to be accidental.

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) said crews were called to RAF Fairford at 01:25 BST on Sunday after flames were spotted in a one-storey industrial storage building.

Fire chiefs said there were no injuries, and early indication suggests the cause of the blaze was accidental.

The Gloucestershire base, located near the Wiltshire border, is being used by the United States Air Force (USAF) to launch operations against Iran.

GFRS said neighbouring fire and rescue services helped tackle the blaze, which has now been extinguished.

A GFRS spokesperson said: “Crews remain at the scene this morning as a precaution and to ensure the incident is fully resolved.”

Fire chiefs had previously warned residents to close their windows and doors due to smoke from the incident.

The UK government announced on 1 March that it had agreed to allow British military bases to be used for “defensive” strikes on Iranian missile sites.

Due to its long runway, RAF Fairford is capable of hosting all three kinds of long-range bombers in the USAF – the B-1, B-2 and the B-52.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and the Ministry of Defence have been approached for comment.
