Labour MP Jo Cox shot and killed – is this Brexit-related?

Four days after Orlando and two after Paris – does this latest shooting have a political agenda?

Two days after the shooting of a policeman and his partner outside Paris, which in turn came less than 48 hours after the Orlando FL shooting in a gay nightclub, Jo Cox, a dynamic 41 year old Labour MP for Batley and Spen in West Yorkshire was both shot and stabbed and subsequently killed by a man who allegedly shouted “Britain First!”.  In an attack estimating to last 15-20 minutes, she was shot twice, latterly in the head, and airlifted to hospital where she died around 2pm GMT today, according to a press conference by Wakefield police.

Campaigning for the Brexit referendum vote has halted for the time being.

The incident took place in the early afternoon in the small West Yorkshire town of Birstall, outside the public library where Ms. Cox held her morning surgeries for constituents. A 52 year old man, identified as Tommy Mair, has been arrested.

Tyler Durden of Zerohedge asks if Brexit was the motive.  In an age of false flag events, this is surely a reasonable question.  Small towns in the middle of Yorkshire are not at all where you would expect to find this sort of attack, and guns are not generally available. Further, shouting “Britain First” as the attack was being perpetrated calls to mind those suspected false flag shooters who conveniently shout Allah u Akbar at the critical moment, satisfying the question of motive without further investigation.

The referendum on whether Britain should leave the EU is set to take place next week, on the 23rd. The Leave side currently has a small lead over Remain.

Britain First is a far-right, British nationalist party created by former members of the British National Party.  It has already denied involvement in the attack.

Jo Cox had worked for the EU in Brussels according to televised CNN coverage as well as for Oxfam in the Third World, and was a supporter of Britain remaining in the EU.

There is speculation as to whether or not this shooting could affect the Brexit vote next week, giving sympathy to the Remain side.
