No, don’t laugh. Many times we’ve said this is a show —
“Those who dare to accuse our soldiers of war crimes are in the ranks of hypocrisy and lies that have not even the slightest bit of morality. The IDF is the most moral army in the world.”

On behalf of the Workers’ Party of Belgium, I argued this morning on the Belgian public broadcaster VRT for bringing Netanyahu to the International Criminal Court in The Hague for war crimes. At least two government parties (@Openvld and @groen) appeared open to that question.

Call to prosecute Netanyahu for war crimes in Israel-Gaza conflict

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza has sparked passionate reactions within the Belgian political class, with calls for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be brought to justice at the International Criminal Court (ICTY) in The Hague for alleged acts of war.
Criticism has increased after recent events which saw Israeli attacks cause significant civilian casualties. Peter Mertens, PTB secretary general and federal MP, strongly condemned Israel’s actions and insisted on the need to prosecute Netanyahu for war crimes.
“Surrounding 2.3 million people, depriving them of food, fuel, water, means of communication and then bombing them: this is a war crime and an act of terror. Netanyahu should be prosecuted for this at the Hague Tribunal for war crimes,” accused Peter Mertens in a statement to VRT.
Federal MP Wouter De Vriendt of the Green party also expressed support for the move, calling it “obvious” that Mr Netanyahu is being prosecuted for war crimes. He stressed that current Israeli attacks deliberately hit the civilian population, which he said constitutes a war crime. De Vriendt also stressed that Hamas’ acts of war do not justify those of Israel.

Egbert Lachaert of the Open VLD party took a more measured stance, saying there should be a thorough investigation to determine whether Netanyahu actually committed war crimes. However, he acknowledged that wrongdoing was carried out on both sides of the conflict.
Jean-Marie Dedecker, sitting as an independent in the House but planning to lead the N-VA in the next federal election in 2024, expressed doubts about a possible prosecution of Mr Netanyahu for war crimes. He suggested that Netanyahu and Hamas are using each other’s atrocities to justify their own actions, while anticipating opposition from the United States and Europe to such a pursuit.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
