ER Editor: This meeting took place a few days ago, with Prof. Jeffrey Sachs addressing a group within the EU Parliament. It’s truly wake-up time. We’ve provided some notes below. Basically, the message to the EU is ‘grow up and take an independent, responsible stance’. He schools everybody on the influence of the Zionist Lobby, Netanyahu and Israel toward the end. Quite remarkable, and true according to real history and sensible analysis.
‘The Israel Lobby dominates American politics’

NOTES
“It’s Hitler, so we can’t talk to them!” This has been the deep state, media-driven foreign policy given to the public over so many years.
Maidan, 2014: The US overthrew Yanukovich in Ukraine. Nuland famously said ‘fuck the EU’ in a call to Geoffrey Pyatt. ‘You don’t get better evidence’ (Sachs plays this phone call publicly to the audience). Sachs was called in by the new Ukraine PM following the US coup d’etat in that country in 2014. The US had paid off the Maidan protestors, the media and all the people involved in the so-called spontaneous ‘Revolution of Dignity’. Everybody was paid and bussed in. And everybody knew this except the citizens of the EU and US.
Then came the Minsk Accords, especially no.2: The idea was to have autonomy for Russian-speaking people in the Donbass area, which was supported by the UN Security Council. But the US and Ukraine decided it wouldn’t be enforced. And Germany and France as guarantors of the Normandy Process just let it go. It was all US-directed with the EU playing a useless subsidiary role.
Trump won (2017) and raised armaments which produced a shelling of the Donbass and many deaths. There was no Minsk II. Then came Biden. Sachs is a former Democrat; the Democrats became total warmongers with never any talk of peace, just like most EU parliamentarians.
Sachs begged Jake Sullivan in 2021 to promise that NATO wouldn’t enlarge to include Ukraine, and he basically refused, even to avoid the threat of war. These are not bright people, he says; they just play game theory, making moves without consulting the other side. Nowhere is there the opportunity for negotiation and peace. He mentions the Rand Corporation, whose sole aim was to ‘annoy Russia’. Their plan was to create crisis, unrest and regime change. And this from an ‘ally’! NATO has a crazy policy of simply permitting itself to go where it wants regardless of the country involved or its neighbour. And the EU permits this ‘open door’ policy. It’s all nonsense.
So the Ukraine war started. What was Putin’s intent? To force Zelensky to negotiate neutrality. It happened in 7 days of the military operation starting (ER: notice the use of the term ‘military operation’). NATO is basically the US, and Russia wanted to keep it off its borders.
Historically, the US abandoned all nuclear arms control frameworks back in 2002. It’s based on blocking a first strike, so this abandonment put Russia on high alert. After 2010, weapons were placed in Poland and Romania, again to Russia’s alarm. In January 2022, the US told Lavrov it could put missile systems wherever it liked. Right now, there is no arms control framework in place. And it was Ukraine who unilaterally walked away from a near-agreement proposed by Russia and mediated by Turkey. Why? Because the US told it to, and the UK joined in. (He speaks very disfavorably about Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer.) As a result, millions of Ukrainians died or were severely wounded. US senators were fine about that (he names some) because no Americans got killed. It’s a pure proxy war. Good value for taxpayer money.
The idea all along was that Russia would fold its hand, that it couldn’t resist. Cutting off the country from SWIFT and applying sanctions, etc. would finish it off. The US has been saying this nonsense for years. As Kissinger said, ‘to be an enemy of the US is dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal’.
Regarding Trump, he doesn’t want to be holding the losing hand, which is why this war will end. Trump and Putin will agree to it. Europe can say what is wants and cheer for the wrong side, but it’s ending. ‘So get it out of your system. Please tell your colleagues it’s over’.
Ukraine is the first winner of peace negotiations; the second is Europe, because your stock market likes this news. ‘This is the best news you can get”. Europe should be the main economic trading partner of Russia, so it’s Russia to whom European leaders should be speaking. Europe has the ability to bring peace in certain quarters of the globe, so it needs a foreign policy that takes into account all sides of the equation, as well as to protect itself. ‘Don’t have American officials as head of Europe. Have European officials, please.’ Have a European foreign policy. “You’re going to be living with Russia for a long time. So please negotiate with Russia.” Stop being Russophobic.
Regarding the Middle East, the US handed over foreign policy to Netanyahu 30 years ago. ‘The Israel Lobby dominates American politics’. ‘Have no doubt about it’. [ER: And it logically dominates yours by extension.] Sachs regards Netanyahu as a ‘war criminal properly indicted by the ICC, who needs to be told ‘no more’, that there will be a state of Palestine according to the borders of June 4th, 1967 according to international law’. This is the way for peace, and the only way Europe will have peace on its borders. A two-state solution is the only way, but the obstacle is the US veto in the UN Security Council. So the EU needs to tell the US to drop the veto. Only US, Israel and a handful of tiny countries support this veto, so the EU has a role to play.
Over the JCPOA in Iran, Europe has gone silent. Netanyahu wants this war with Iran and the US will follow Israel because it has no independent foreign policy.
Trump may get back US foreign policy. ‘I’m hoping it’s the case’.
China is not an enemy, it’s simply successful with a bigger economy than the US. ‘That’s all’.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
