Time To Speak Up! Patriots Launch Civic Consultation on Freedom of Speech

The EU Parliament’s largest conservative group is inviting citizens to share their opinion on the ideological path Brussels has taken with regard to free speech, media, and NGOs.

Portuguese MEP and PfE vice-chair Tânger Corrêa is spearheading the alternative survey—simple, accessible, and non-ideological—, initiated to offer European citizens a real opportunity to participate. “The European Union makes decisions that affect both our daily lives and yours. That is why we have launched this civic questionnaire about what the European Union should be. It is essential to counterbalance biased ideas and the surveys conducted by the Commission itself,” Corrêa stated.

The civic consultation has also received public support from other European parliamentarians such as Branko Grims (European People’s Party) and Virginie Joron (Patriots for Europe), who have promoted the initiative on social media, as well as from national MPs in Portugal.

The initiative has two key goals: first, to gather independent data that more accurately reflects public opinion; and second, to significantly surpass the participation levels of the official consultation—a target that is already being achieved.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
