ER Editor: We wonder if this actually happened some time ago with it just coming to light now, but don’t have proof. Didier Reynders appears to have been a pal of disgraced French president and cabal operative, Nicolas Sarkozy, and has a long-ish past of suspicious financial dealings.

Here is Belgian MEP for the European Patriots Tom Vandendriessche in the tweet below, with colleague Michel van der Kemp’s translation of what was being said in the video recording (with a caution that some of what was said wasn’t very clear). First is Tom’s tweeted remark, translated, then a transcription of what Tom and Reynders said, in English:
‘The regime press uncritically celebrated Didier Reynders upon his appointment as European Commissioner. It is worthwhile to listen once again to my interrogation from 2019, in light of the recent reports regarding deep corruption and a millions fraud in which the man is said to be involved.’
As Minister of Finance, you are directly responsible for legislation that allows tax fraud to be settled financially, letting wealthy criminals avoid punishment. The United Nations criticized you for funneling billions to warlords in Libya. You are mentioned in numerous fraud cases. A whistleblower from state security filed a complaint against you for corruption. After only 11 days the investigation was stopped, just in time for this hearing — how coincidental. The man filed a new complaint against you, this time documented with eighteen reports from state security. And he also says he is being threatened with death. Why do you think European citizens can trust you when it comes to protecting the rule of law?
Now your answer.
D. Reynders: Thank you for your question. [Something about Belgium, unclear] I want to organize a genuine effort to defend the rule of law inside and outside the Union. I think it is important to say that I am moving toward the introduction of an annual report concerning the rule of law, in a new mechanism. And I think it is important to say that this will be without any discrimination toward one or another Member State. So also with regard to Belgium, we will include a number of remarks in such a report, and I think that is the best proof of a real commitment to defending the rule of law throughout the entire European Union. For more than three years I have proposed moving to a peer review within the Council on this matter. And I have always said that this will apply to every Member State, not only to another with more attention for a Member State where there are problems — obviously — but with attention without discrimination. And you referred to the judges in Belgium: there is an independent procedure for appointments. You know this from a specific Council for the Magistracy. I think that is the best protection. I hope it will be possible to go in the same direction in many other countries within the European Union and outside the European Union. Well, I still hope for a lot of confidence in our judicial system in Belgium, just like in many other countries of the European Union. So I think it was possible to give a concrete answer in my introduction.

This tweet (which X will translate) gives a good breakdown of what Reynders might have done, with suspicions about his finances going back to 2008:
Voormalig Eurocommissaris Didier Reynders officieel verdacht van witwassen, riskeert dankzij netwerkcorruptie binnen Justitie geen ernstige straf – De Belgische oud-minister en ex-Eurocommissaris voor Justitie Didier Reynders (MR, 67) is op 16 oktober officieel in verdenking… pic.twitter.com/0CoKExB3FI

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
