May: MPs will be able to block No Deal, extend Article 50 – so expect EU elections on May 23rd

May: MPs will be able to block No Deal and extend Article 50

Theresa May has today announced that if MPs reject her deal, they will get the chance to block a No Deal Brexit and then vote for an extension of Article 50.

It is the latest disgraceful development as Remainer MPs do their best to delay and stop Brexit completely.

MPs will vote on May’s deal by 12th March. If they reject that, a vote on No Deal follows and if that is rejected, MPs then vote on whether to vote to delay Brexit.

The PM said that No Deal would now require the “explicit consent for that outcome”. What happened to the UK leaving on 29th March and No Deal better being than a bad deal?

This is a total establishment stitch-up that is a disgrace to the historic, democratic vote of 17.4 million Brits in 2016.

Leave Means Leave ‘to take legal action if Article 50 is extended’

The pro-Brexit Leave Means Leave cross-party campaign group have pledged to pursue legal action if Article 50 is extended and Brexit is delayed, forcing European Elections to take place if the UK is still in the European Union by then.

In a statement on their website today, LML announced: “Leave Means Leave, the cross party campaign group for a true Brexit, is to mount legal action against the UK Government to ensure that European Elections will be held in the UK on May 23rd 2019 if Article 50 to leave the EU is extended.

“The organisation has appointed City law firm Wedlake Bell as well as Counsel from Field Court Chambers to prepare this claim.”

They go on to say: “Leave Means Leave’s legal action is designed to ensure that if the UK is still a member of the EU on the 23rd May, European Elections must be held on that day.”

The Co-Chair of Leave Means Leave, businessman Richard Tice (pictured), added: “We will mount legal action against the UK Govt to ensure that European Elections will be held in the UK on May 23rd 2019 IF Art50 is extended.

“The idea of a Brexit delay is foul but we must be prepared: keeping the UK a member of the EU without representation is unacceptable.”

Bonkers establishment MPs have lost their minds if they think Brexiteers are going to stand back and see the referendum result betrayed. If there are European Elections in May, expect the government and Labour to take an absolute pasting.
