Based on research by Francesca Totolo, there is an extensive network of open borders activists and organisations funding immigration efforts. Many of them are directly funded by or cooperating with George Soros’ Open Society.

The “immigration lobby’’ network in Italy is made up of international NGOs financed by the Open Society Foundation (OSF), Italian NGOs financed by OSF, and organisations working in collaboration with OSF projects.

Soros-GentiloniMeanwhile, a secret meeting at Palazzo Chigi between George Soros and Prime Minister Gentiloni (pictured) has raised eyebrows in Italy. The president received the entrepreneur, philanthropist and financier, prompting questions from a senator in May.

“It is a great surprise to read that the President of the Council, Paolo Gentiloni, has today received the multi-billionaire George Soros, as well as the President of the Federal Republic of Germany who will soon be in Palazzo Chigi. In 1992 Soros caused the devaluation of the lira by 30 percent and the dissipation of 40 000 billion lire of currency reserves of the Bank of Italy, and today he openly supports the largest immigration to Italy, advocates and finances LGBT policies and is in favor of the liberalisation of drugs. It would be interesting to know the reason and the content of this interview, not announced and not reported,” senator Lucio Malan said.

“I will present a question to Prime Minister Gentiloni to ask why the entrepreneur Soros was present at Palazzo Chigi. Obviously, if he was received at the official headquarters of the government, this is an institutional commitment and it is normal for Parliament to be informed, The role he had in the speculative attack of 1992 against the lira, was considered a legitimate financial operation by him,” Elvira Savino, deputy of Forza Italia, said.

There is no mention of the meeting on the government website, adding to rife speculation about the secret visit. Soros had already been named by Lega Nord leader Matteo Salvini (pictured) as the secret financier behind the NGOs and his well-timed arrival is bound to create further controversy.

“I am increasingly convinced that there is a clear attempt to replace ethnic peoples with other peoples. This is not an emergent but organised immigration that tends to ethnically replace the Italian people with other peoples,” Salvini said meeting journalists in Catania, after spending the night at Cara di Mineo, a reception centre for migrants.

“There is no such thing as wars, human rights and despair,” Salvini added. “It is simply an economic and commercial operation funded by people like Soros. As far as I’m concerned, I would outlaw all such institutions – even those funded with just one euro – by people like Soros. They should not be able to set foot in Italy, nor associations from people funded by him.”

The Open Society Foundations and Associazione Carta di Roma, founded in December 2011, are closely linked. It was set up as a moral code for correct information on immigration. Since February 2016 the “glossary’’ of the Charter of Rome (Carta di Roma) is an integral part of the “Unified charter of duties of the journalist’’. Permanent invited members are the UN High Council for Refugees, the International Organization for Migrations and the National Office against Racial Discrimination.

The glossary of the Charter of Rome has been revised and corrected by the editors to guarantee political correctness, limiting the use of words that are deemed not suitable when the subject in a news report is without citizenship and in a foreign country. The accepted terms are: asylum seeker, refugee, person protected by subsidiary protection, beneficiary of humanitarian protection, victim of smuggling, or irregular migrant, previously commonly defined as “clandestine”.
